OUR HISTORY

The Holistic Professionals of Color Association (HPOC) was born from a vision to restore and elevate traditional healing practices within communities of color. Founded by Dr. Karen 'RayeQueen' Haymore, HPOC emerged as a response to the health disparities disproportionately affecting BIPOC individuals and the marginalization of culturally rich healing practices. Recognizing the need for a dedicated space for BIPOC holistic practitioners, Dr. Haymore sought to create an organization that would not only reclaim ancestral knowledge but also provide culturally appropriate, natural, and preventive health solutions for the BIPOC community.

HPOC’s mission is rooted in the principles of health equity, cultural heritage, and holistic wellness. Since its inception, HPOC has grown into a nationwide network of holistic practitioners, educators, and community members, offering a wide range of programs and initiatives. These include educational workshops, community events, holistic health fairs, national healing initiatives, and a robust membership program that fosters collaboration among practitioners of color.

Through partnerships with like-minded organizations and an unwavering commitment to wellness, HPOC continues to advocate for the rights of holistic practitioners and the accessibility of diverse healing modalities. As we grow, we remain dedicated to honoring our ancestors and creating a legacy of wellness that will empower generations to come.
